WILDERNESS SURVIVAL TRAINING AT WOODSRUNNER SCHOOL

One course or the full path—either way, you’ll leave changed.

Train With Purpose. Progress With Confidence.

At Woodsrunner School, we teach survival through experience. Whether you’re looking for a single weekend to reconnect with creation or a full path to long-term self-reliance, we’ve built a structure that meets you where you are—and moves you forward with purpose.

Our survival training path is designed as a progression. Each course builds on the last. But every course can also stand alone. Whether you’re here for one weekend or the full journey, you’ll walk away with something real.

The Woodsrunner Survival Training Path

Below is the full survival progression. You don’t have to take every course—but if you do, you’ll earn something few others ever experience: confidence that’s been tested and proven in the field.

Survival 101: "Foundation to Survival Training"

Recommended starting point for beginners

This relaxed, practical introduction gives you the survival mindset, gear knowledge, fire skills, clothing strategy, knots, and basic shelter principles needed to build real confidence in the outdoors.

Survival 201: Survive to Rescue "The First 72 Hours"

Short-term survival, real-time response

What you do in the first 72 hours determines everything. Learn how to manage emergencies, build shelter, purify water, stay calm, move smart, and signal for rescue—through immersive, scenario-based training designed to help you think clearly and act confidently in the field.

While no formal experience is required, we strongly encourage participants to take Survival 101 first. It lays the groundwork in gear, mindset, and basic field skills that will save you time, reduce stress, and help you get the most out of your 201 experience.

Survival 301: Survive to Sustain  "Beyond 72 Hours"

Long-term survival, sustainability, and field improvisation

When the emergency lasts longer than expected, survival becomes less about what you brought—and more about what you know. This 3-day course teaches you how to live in the wild using minimal gear, natural resources, and practical improvisation.

You’ll refine essential survival skills like fire, food sourcing, navigation, and shelter building—all while learning how to operate in uncertain and resource-limited conditions.

Completion of Survival 201 is required before taking this course.

The final step. A river-based survival expedition where everything you’ve learned gets tested in real-time. Paddling, sheltering, navigating, leading, adapting—this is where skill becomes identity.

Open only to those who have completed Survival 201, Survival 301, Woodsrunner Wilderness First-Aid.
