FINDING THE WAY
WILDERNESS, WISDOM, & THE WAY FORWARD
IS YOUR TEEN STRUGGLING?
Life can be challenging for teens, but when they’re considered “at risk,” it can be even harder. The struggle to find a safe space where they can feel accepted and understood can sometimes seem overwhelming. But sometimes, it's not just about finding the right place—it’s about helping them discover purpose.
INTRODUCING THE FINDING THE WAY OFF-GRID IMMERSION PROGRAM
At Finding The Way, we provide a comprehensive and structured program for teens who need support navigating their challenges. Our approach is built on biblical principles emphasizing character development, personal growth, and life skills. Through mentorship, outdoor education, and hands-on activities, teens will not only learn practical skills but also begin to build their confidence and resilience.
We incorporate faith-based principles throughout the program, providing teens with an environment where they can find support and build a sense of hope and direction.
Whether they’re struggling with relationships, decision-making, or personal identity, our program offers the structure and guidance needed for teens to grow and thrive.
THE WAY METHOD
The W.A.Y. Method is the core structure of our program. Built around Work, Accountability, and Yielding, this approach guides each young man through real-world challenges designed to foster responsibility, resilience, and purpose. It’s not about punishment—it’s about preparing them for life beyond this experience.
-
Work – From chopping firewood to building shelters, young men engage in meaningful, physical tasks that promote responsibility and self-confidence in their progress.
-
Accountability – Every action has consequences. Mentorship, structure, and real-life expectations help participants learn ownership and maturity.
-
Yielding – True strength comes from letting go of destructive patterns and beginning the journey toward lasting change.

FROM WILDERNESS TO STABILITY: A PATH EARNED THROUGH GROWTH
Every young man’s journey at Finding The Way begins in the wilderness—not just as a physical setting, but as a place of reset. Like the biblical accounts of transformation that began in quiet, rugged places, our off-grid wilderness immersion strips away distraction and invites reflection, challenge, and change.
Early in the program, teens live simply—managing basic needs, learning foundational skills, and stepping into a daily structure rooted in discipline and purpose. This phase isn’t about proving worth; it’s about discovering what happens when excuses fall away and effort is required.
As each young man begins to take ownership of his choices, his growth becomes visible. Through consistent follow-through, respectful attitude, and willingness to be guided, he earns the opportunity to move from primitive shelter into more stable, personalized living. Often this means restoring or improving a small off-grid cabin—crafted by past participants or built by his own hands.
This isn’t about comfort—it’s about becoming capable. It’s not about reward—it’s about trust.
Through this journey, participants experience:
The reset of wilderness immersion, free from distractions and noise
-
The challenge of earning advancement, not receiving it
-
The responsibility of caring for something bigger than themselves
-
The dignity of learning real-world skills: carpentry, water systems, gardening, wood heat, and tool maintenance
-
The value of improvement—leaving a place, and themselves, better than they found it
Each step reflects a deeper truth: personal growth is not handed out—it’s cultivated. And here, in the quiet work of daily effort, that growth begins to take root.

EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT & STRUCTURE
We believe education is an important part of a young man’s future, and we’re committed to helping it stay on course. While each family determines the academic path that fits best, we support that journey by providing daily structure, tutoring, and accountability for educational progress.
Whether a participant is continuing a homeschool curriculum, enrolled in an online program, or preparing to earn a GED, we provide scheduled time for study and offer one-on-one support when needed. Our goal is to ensure learning doesn’t fall through the cracks—even while teens are immersed in the daily challenges and lessons of off-grid living.
