In early 2019, The Woodsrunner School, along with Clemson Extension / Union County 4H, established a youth program to provide training for individuals ages 5 to 19. The Woodsrunner School has been dedicated to providing the next generation in our community with the knowledge and skills that can increase their safety and enjoyment of the great outdoors. This program has been designed to develop a greater sense of self-esteem, self-respect, and self-discipline in our youth, both within the wilderness and in everyday life.
Our youth meet with our highly skilled and knowledgeable instructors twice a month throughout the year. This program provides a safe and fun environment in which our participants gain valuable knowledge and skills that are needed to be prepared in a wilderness environment or crisis situation. Our students also learn to be more self-reliant through these exercises and activities.
HOW IT WORKS
Starting each year in January, students will typically meet on the first Thursday of each month at 7 pm at Union County Fairgrounds (schedule may vary). Following this meeting, the students will spend the following Saturday at the Woodsrunner training facility for a full day (10am till 4:30pm) of hands-on training, skill building, and fun challenges.

HOW TO SIGN UP
To participate, all youth must register with the Union County 4H. There is a $10 annual fee, which allows them to participate in this and other 4H programs. In addition, there is a $20 fee for each of our full-day Woodsrunner workshops happening Saturdays, once a month at the Woodsrunner training facility. We provide lunch during the full-day workshops, and scholarships may be available. Contact the Woodsrunner School for more information.
