TRADITIONAL SKILLS
Traditional skills take a historical approach to the ways of our ancestors in which we embrace and practice their traditions and skills, allowing students to find the value in them and, therefore, become closer to nature.
These courses are quite valuable and applicable when one considers all of the civilizations throughout history that utilized skills without the technology that we take for granted today. In our Traditional Skills courses, the focus is on the artistry that allows us to make use of resources that are naturally and readily available: wood, rock, bones, and other natural materials. Learning how to use natural elements, one can craft tools, weapons, and other instruments with which to be less dependent on the modern world.
Whether you are a lover of history, anthropology, or nature, have a preparedness or ‘prepper’ mentality, or simply see the value in the art that is crafting, these courses will be valuable and applicable to your skill set and interest level.
Come see what our ancestors saw in the wilderness!
