As an extreme immersion course, this challenge is where the rubber meets the road.
THE WOODSRUNNER SURVIVAL CHALLENGE
The Woodsrunner Survival Challenge is designed for those who have the training and experience to join instructors as we venture on a five day trek through inhospitable terrain with only the skills learned and mastered in the first three curricular steps.
This challenge is an assessment of a real-life wilderness situation in a 100% natural environment. Participants will be evaluated under a limited scope of time to accomplish the tasks put forth. The course is based on adrenaline-fueled, endurance-based scenarios that require strategy, active-thinking, and pure grit to complete.
We believe that employing intuition, being psychological, improvising, and using physical abilities makes our students Adept Survivalists.
Intuition + Psychological Activity + Improvisation + Physical Endurance
= Adept Survivalist
What Should I Expect?
As an extreme immersion course, this challenge is where the rubber meets the road. No matter the skill set and knowledge base, only a real situation will truly test one's mind, body, and determination. The mental, physical, and emotional challenges may leave you 10 to 15 lbs lighter at the end, but the proficiency of the wilderness and becoming the best you can be is priceless.
Expect the worst.
Be prepared for a physically and demanding experience. Participants will cross bodies of water, climb through ravines, and traverse thick brush during various weather conditions with only a knife to work with, a small kit, and the clothing on their backs. Being exhausted, hungry, wet, thirsty, and having the thoughts of giving up will be a constant state.
Expect the best of ourselves!
“Embrace The Suck”
The skills, knowledge, and mindset acquired during prior survival training have set the participants on a path to overcome and accept the adversities that are the now. With a firm understanding that the mind and body can endure more than it says, feels and thinks. The participant will grasp the situation, find a remedy, and quickly overcome all while causing them to press forward and “Embrace the Suck”.
What is covered in the course?
The unknown is one one of the greatest challenges that most face, so the course’s how, what, when, and where content will not be disclosed.
Evaluation & Criteria to complete course

Delegate, prioritize and assign responsibility within the group dynamic.
The ability to remain calm and keep a clear head - Make solid decisions while under stress, pressure, and extreme conditions (needs of the body)
Proper use of time allowed to effect a solution in a designated (strict) time frame. There is no plan B!
Create a strategy and effectively execute it to achieve the desired resolution.
Evaluate every situation and prioritise available resources.
Work with extremely limited resources and still achieve an effective outcome.
Suffice it to say students will face many obstacles, and work with extremely limited resources, yet achieve an effective outcome.
Over the course of 5 days, participants will move at a steady pace with limited amounts of needed resources on hand. This very demanding course requires that participants come not only with their skills and knowledge but also having physical endurance. Make sure to prepare yourself at least a few months in advance by exercising and maintaining a healthy diet. If you have been sick or had any medical procedures within the last three months, Do not attempt this course until you have time to rest and completely recover.
